With a name based on a Mystery Science Theater 3000 riff, EPP was originally going to mostly house B-movie reviews. Now though, it has become a repository for whatever burrs get under my pop culture saddle on any given day. Seriously, I must be insane; who else voluntarily reads a book on the history of jeans...and enjoys it?

The Silent Majority: Everyone was There

A random selection of photos featuring several stars of the silent era.

America's own Sweetheart of the Cinema, Mary Pickford, has her hands, arms, and shoulders full with this adorable bunch!

Mary and brother Jack Pickford stage a hold-up of cowboy actor Tom More.  Look out, Mr. More; these kids mean business!

Another pair of Hollywood siblings: Lillian and Dorothy, the sisters Gish.  Each of these lovely ladies has her own unique set of talents when it comes to acting.  Lillian knows just how to bring the perfect touch of drama to the screen, while Dorothy is more often content to make people laugh.

Handsome Gilbert Roland and lovely Norma Talmadge share a romantic moment.

Jack Pickford married enchanting stage star Marilyn Miller in 1922.  The couple are pictured here with their beloved dogs.

John Gilbert, the Great Lover himself, romances lovely Eleanor Boardman in Bardelys the Magnificent (1926)

Larry Kent looks rather less than amused while Colleen Moore simply looks on in Her Wild Oat (1927)

On a fine day in 1927, Sally Blane and Louise Brooks gaze off into the distance, perhaps searching for Mr. Right.  Sally has chosen sensible footwear for this little expedition, while Louise, ever the baby vamp, sticks to her high heels.

Norma Shearer flirts with Ramon Navarro in The Student Prince in Old Heidelberg, that 1927 romantic hit that has us all running to the theaters.

Lon Chaney proves that he has more than just his 1000 faces to get by on when he portrays an armless circus performer in The Unknown (1927).  Pictured with him is that new young starlet everyone will love, Joan Crawford.

A true life Hollywood romance culminated in the September 1927 wedding of top star Norma Shearer to MGM Production Head Irving Thalberg.  Here's wishing the happy couple many years of wedded bliss!

Who's that funny little gray-haired fellow with William Haines and Marion Davies?  Why, it's everyone's favorite Little Tramp, Charlie Chaplin!  He's one of many stars who make cameos in the new MGM Comedy Show People (1928)
